Carrots Are Good?

Just last week, I was complaining about my son's food choices. Well, overnight, some miracle of miracles occurred.

We went for a hike together the other night, and on the way home, we started talking about dinner plans. The Gibbon, who's imagining he's Kangaroo Boy, announces he's having "leaves with carrots." This is the same boy who has yet to willingly eat a vegetable that isn't deep fried.

I assumed we would get home and he would change his mind. But, he helped me fix a salad, consisting of the requested leaves (aka lettuce) and carrots, and got to munching. The first comment out of his mouth, "Mmm, why didn't you tell me carrots were good?" Oh, did I forget to mention that the other 14000 I offered them to you?

He's also expanded his menu to include grapes, pears, plums, apples, celery, and french toast. He's been eating and eating, and now I'm starting to worry if he'll ever stop!

Oh, and in other news, this momma hasn't had soda in 3 days. I may be crazier than normal by the end of the week.

That's great news (about the Gibbons food, not about you going crazy)! Aren't they funny how they struggle against us for so long and then realize, gee this isn't so bad.

Wow! Good for both of you!

Rhino is like that all the time. He'll pass on candy if there are apples in the house and believe me I'm grateful. But have you seen the cost of fresh produce lately?! Oh well.

LOL! Glad he likes them! My kids have always liked things that you wouldn't think a normal kid would like. Like onions, mushrooms, cauliflower, brocoli and spinach! I don't know what it is but I like it! lol

Yay on the Gibbon choosing the veggies. My two both came around to salads this year.
