Do you remember Norman? He's the lovable farting elephant that arrived at our house last summer.

Norman is an African elephant that was recently adopted by a US zoo. Unfortunately, in being transferred to the zoo, Norman's change in diet caused him to become rather gassy. Norman PhartEphant Volume 1 by Angela Larson follows Norman's experiences at his new zoo.
The book discusses the embarrassment of his gassy issue, the anxiety related to being in a new home, and the other animals he has met. Norman learns about other critters and is able to compare himself with them to see both their similarities and differences.

I had the opportunity to read Norman PhartEphant with my 5 year old. He has been a huge fan of the Norman plush since the day it arrived and was so excited to read about Norman's adventures. Little Man loved looking at the zoo illustrations and seeing all the different animal pens. (He still dreams of being a zoologist some day.)

The book caused several giggles, and it held my son's attention from start to finish. He was actually rather upset that there is currently only one Norman book. (Though two more volumes are in the works.) He can't wait to see who Norman meets next at the zoo!
