Taking a State-Cation with Holiday Inn

We didn't get a chance to take a big family vacation this year. Between the cost and scheduling, it just wasn't something we could fit in.

Now I've heard of staycations, but what about state-cations?

A state-cation gives you the opportunity to rest and relax, and enjoy all the attractions your state has to offer. And a long weekend nearby is something we can squeeze into our budget.

Pennsylvania offers so many exciting places to visit. Our favorites include Hershey, where we can hit the amusement park, Chocolate World, and Zoo America, or Gettysburg, where we visit the battlefields, learn a little about our history, and go shopping at the outlets. We also love going to any of the state parks to go hiking, swimming, or boating.Whether your heading out for a long weekend or a long vacation, there's a good chance you'll find a Holiday Inn nearby, especially with 2500 locations throughout the country. Holiday Inns are currently undergoing some transformations, including adding soft and firm pillows to their signature bedding and power showers in the bathrooms.

Our trips, whether within the state or not, usually include a stay at Holiday Inn, and we've always had friendly service and clean rooms, without paying an arm and a leg to stay there. I'm excited to see the new changes they've implemented whenever we head out on our next trip!
Just so you know...I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Holiday Inn. Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

We just visited Gettysburg Battlefield for the first time this summer. Mid-afternoon in the summer is not the best time to be hiking all over the battlefield with a toddler (early morning is more like it)...I tried to get dropped off at the Gettysburg outlets, but my hubby feels that I should be more interested in history. :P

We haven't been to Hershey Park yet, but since I am still working on the hubby to try and check it out soon.

Aww Staci, I am glad you had a good time. We took a little trip to Atlanta and that will be our only vacation this year too. We had a fab time and that is all that is important :)

What a cool idea! I've been thinking about ideas for how we can get away without breaking the bank!
