Drive-In

One thing I love about living in the middle of nowhere is that there are still simple things to do. We are lucky to live right down the road from an old drive-in theater.

For us, it seems that summer really kicks off the first night we pack up the car with pillows, blankets, and some yummy, not-so-good-for-you snacks.

One of the best parts of the night is waiting for the movie to start. We can play in the grass, eat disgustingly-yummy movie food, and snuggle in our little homemade couch on the ground.

We got the chance to see Disney's UP last night, and it was wonderful. My 4 year old sat amazingly still through out the whole movie. He absolutely loved it! Kevin, was by far, his favorite character. And since we got home last night, you will randomly hear squirrel! being shouted across the house.

What movies do your kids love?

i so remember doing this as a kid - it is fabulous that you have opportunity to share it with your son!

How lucky are you to not only have a drive in but one that plays brand spanking new movies :) My oldest daughter is the only tv kid in our home and she is loving Bolt lately. If you asked her favorite I am sure it would be one of the Lilo & Stitch movies though :)

Love the drive-in. The best part is that the kids can go nuts -as mine do- and no one cares:)And i remember seeing ET at the drive in with MY parents( I was 3)

That sounds like so much fun!!! I have never been to a drive in before. My kids' favorite movies are, Anastasia(sp?), Happy Feet, Phantom of the Operah (lol), anything Spider Man and Night At the Museum!

Oh, wow, this is so much fun! When I was growing up, the closest drive-in was probably about two hours away, which always made me so sad. What a perfect way to spend an almost-summer night.

That's awesome. We actually had a drive in built here a few years ago. We've been once so far but it was sooo hot.

Fun. We lived across the street from a drive-inn prior to this house. We never made our way over there, though.
I can't wait to see UP. But, my fave movie to watch with the kiddos right now is Fantasia.
