Eat From the Pantry Challenge

We are officially eating from the pantry this month. Well, not too officially, but hubby has been forbidden from making 22 trips to the store this week. I've limited him to once a week. With a list. A list that must be followed.

My goal is to use up much of what is in the pantry and freezer, but also to be creative with it. I'm so tired of having the same meals day after day. We have plenty of choices to get us started. Our pantry seems to be overflowing and our freezers are stuffed full. So, I've taken inventory to get us started. It took me over an hour. And I'm so ashamed at how much we have (and how messy it is right now)!

We've got plenty of choices. I'll be doing a quick inventory of my freezer before I start planning out our menu for the rest of the month.

My goals are to drastically decrease our spending, as well as get rid of all the junk and start bring less into the house. I'd be fine without any of the junk food, but the boys would have something to say. For the month, I plan to only buy fruits, veggies, bread, milk, and cheese as needed.

Wish me luck!

Good luck! I can't wait to see what you plan. I wanted to do this, but we haven't gone grocery shopping in almost 4 weeks, there is nothing to go with! lol

You know, this is so true. I will often look into a full pantry and say "ugh, we really dont have anything to eat" - and then I get "that look" from the Hubbly, LOL I am guilty of 4 or 5 trips a week to the grocery store as well. I am gonna go try this - very cool idea.
