Tyson Skillet Creations Review & Giveaway

As a mom, I'm all about meals that are quick and easy. Some days I'm so tired that even using the microwave seems tiring. But I still want to feed my family something healthy and filling.

Did you know that more than 70% of Americans consume more than the daily recommended 2,400mg of sodium per day? In response to that statistic, Tyson Foods teamed up with Food Network host, Robin Miller, to offer new Skillet Creations Meal Kits. They contain 45% less sodium than their previous frozen meal kits and less sodium than many frozen meals on the market.
The Skillet Creations line includes Grilled Chicken Fajitas, Grilled Steak Fajitas, Chicken Tuscany and Penne, Asian Style Orange Chicken, and Stroganoff.

We had the opportunity to try the Grilled Chicken Fajitas for dinner this week. Hubby and I both enjoyed the meal, and found it very simple to prepare. Just toss the ingredients in a pan and warm the tortillas in the microwave. We added a salad to the meal, and the end result was delicious and filling.
The only thing I noticed was that I had to cook it for longer than the recommended 10 minutes to cook out some of the moisture. I'm not sure if it was the meal or my stove. But after an extra 5 minutes, we were ready to chow down.

But It: Check your local grocery store or find out who carries the meal kits at Tyson.com

Win It: One lucky reader will get a coupon to try a Skillet Creation from Tyson for free

I always buy Tyson frozen skinless chicken breasts and nuggets. There are just some things you can't go generic on because they aren't near as good as Tyson. You'll always find it in my freezer!

We actually had the Tyson Beef Steak Fajitas for dinner tonight. My husband said they were better than any other frozen fajita I had ever made. We didn't have the same problem you did though. 10 minutes with the lid on, then they sat for a couple while I got everything else ready, and they had just the right amount of "fajita sauce."

I'll be buying it again, but only on sale. $8 was a bit much.
